Monticello Elementary School

Monticello Elementary School was constructed directly behind the existing 60-year-old school. Careful planning and coordination promoted maintaining safe school functions while construction was ongoing. Nestled in front of the Abejo Mountains, the exterior aesthetic reflects the character of the desert mountain town while the interior layout and design thoughtfully supports a wide variety of learning activities. The original school bell from the early 1900’s was removed in the 1960’s, it has now been refurbished and hangs in the main entrance, ready to ring over Monticello again.
